Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet. More precisely, the present invention relates to a clasp for a watch strap comprising means which allow fine adjustment of the length of the strap.
Background of the invention
[0002] Clasps comprising means for fine adjustment of the length of the strap of a watch are already known from the state of the art. By clasp for fine adjustment of the length of a bracelet, we mean clasps which make it possible to adjust the length of a bracelet over a short stroke in order to allow this length to be adapted as accurately as possible for optimal comfort when wearing the bracelet. watch. Such clasps usually include a connecting link via which one of the strands of the bracelet is connected to the cover of the clasp. This terminal link is able to slide in a longitudinal direction of the clasp between a first retracted position in which it is received in the cover of the clasp and a second extended position in which it is released from the clasp. Therefore, the length available for fine adjustment is determined by the stroke of the end link between its first and second positions. For indexing the position of the terminal link, the terminal link cooperates via a toothed element with a groove. By way of example, the rack may be integral with the cover of the clasp and the toothed element may be carried by the terminal link. The permutation of the bleeding and of the toothed element is also possible. A clasp of this type is known, for example, from patent EP 2 765 883.
When the toothed element is engaged with the groove, the terminal link is immobilized. To disengage the toothed element from its engagement with the groove, elastic uncoupling means are provided. The force of the toothing between the toothed member and the toothed rack is relatively small, so that the position of the end link can be easily changed, for example by pulling or pushing the end link. In addition, the handling of such a system does not allow simple, rapid and precise adjustment for the wearer of the watch.
Summary of the invention
The present invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above as well as others by providing a clasp for fine adjustment of the length of a watch strap allowing on the one hand to keep the adjustment of the length of the strap without risk of inadvertently losing it, and on the other hand by providing particularly simple and quick handling and adjustment.
[0005] To this end, the present invention relates to a clasp for a watch strap comprising a cover connected on a first side to a first bracelet strand and on a second side to a second bracelet strand, the connecting means being interposed between the second bracelet strand and the cover of the clasp, these connecting means comprising a connecting link sliding in a longitudinal direction of the clasp between a first position in which the connecting link is engaged in the cover of the clasp, and a second position in which the link is at least partially released from the cover of the clasp, characterized in that the clasp comprises at least a first and a second bar mounted in the cover, and in that the connecting link comprises a lever provided with at least one hook arranged to move from a first position in which the at least one hook is engaged with at least a first bar integral with the lid of the fermo ir, to at least a second position in which the at least one hook is released from its engagement with said first bar and said link is free to slide so as to engage said second bar with at least one hook.
[0006] According to other advantageous variants of the invention:the lever is arranged to pivot relative to the link during the passage from the first position to said at least second position;the lever is held in the first position by means of a spring housed in the connecting link;said at least one hook and said lever form an integral element;the cover comprises at least a third bar defining a third position;the connecting link is equipped with a stop means preventing the extraction of the connecting link from the clasp cover;the stopping means consists of a screw which protrudes in a groove made in the bottom of the cover and which defines two end stops;the cover has a general U-shaped section and is provided with two wings facing each other, these wings each carrying a groove on their face directed inwards;the terminal link comprises lateral guide surfaces so as to be guided to slide in the cover between the bottom of the cover and the wings;the lever has two hooks;the connecting link comprises a housing for receiving said spring, said spring being supported at least against the bottom of said housing and said lever.
[0007] The invention also relates to a wristwatch equipped with a clasp according to the invention.
Brief description of the drawings
[0008] Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge more clearly from the following detailed description of an embodiment of the clasp for a watch strap or for a belt according to the invention, this example being given for purely illustrative purposes. and not limiting only in conjunction with the appended drawing in which:FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the clasp according to the invention;Figure 2 is a perspective view of the clasp of Figure 1 in the assembled state;FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the clasp according to the invention, the adjustment link being in the engaged position;FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the clasp according to the invention, the fine adjustment link being in the released position;FIG. 5 is a detailed perspective view of the adjustment link of the clasp according to the invention;FIG. 6 is a bottom perspective view of the clasp according to the invention.
Detailed description of the preferred embodiments
[0009] The invention will now be described in connection with a watch strap. It goes without saying, however, that this example is given purely by way of illustration and is not limiting and that the clasp according to the invention can also be used for a belt buckle, for example.
Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of the clasp according to the invention while Figure 2 is a perspective view of the same clasp in the assembled state. The clasp 1 according to the invention comprises a cover 2 connected on a first side to a first strap strand (not shown) with the interposition of a folding clasp closure system 6 and of the clasp locking means, the structures of which are known and which will therefore not be described further here. It will be noted that the folding clasp closure system 6 can be omitted and that the cover 2 can be connected to the first strap strand directly. The cover 2 is connected on a second side to a second strap strand (not shown) with a connecting link 10 to perform fine adjustment of the length of the watch strap. The bracelet strands can be formed by a succession of links or else by a strand of leather, textile or else elastomer material.
As can be seen in Figure 1, the cover 2 has a general U-shaped section and is provided with two wings 12 facing each other, these wings 12 each bearing on their face facing inward a groove 14. Furthermore, a cavity 16 is formed in the bottom of the cover 2 and defines two end stops 18, the role of which will be described in detail later. Finally, the connecting link 10 comprises lateral guide rails 20 so as to be guided in sliding manner in the cover 2 between the bottom of the cover 2 and the wings 12. It will be noted in Figures 3 and 4 that the connecting link 10 is capable of sliding in a longitudinal direction of the clasp 1 between a first position (figure 3) in which the connecting link 10 is engaged in the cover 2 of the clasp 1, and a second position (figure 4) in which the connecting link 10 is at least partially released from the cover 2 of the clasp 1. The length available for adjusting the bracelet is determined by the travel of the connecting link 10 between its first and second positions.
The clasp 1 also comprises at least two bars 21, 22 spaced apart and mounted in the cover 2 in the direction of the width of the clasp, each end of the bars being arranged to rest in a blind hole 13 machined in the wings 12 of the cover 2, the two bars defining the first and second positions of the link 10. The bars 21, 22 are provided for removable or fixed and are arranged to cooperate with at least one hooks 32, 32 'so as to lock the connecting link 10 in the first or second position. If necessary, those skilled in the art will not have any particular difficulty in adding a third bar and a third hook, for example.
The connecting link 10 comprises two ends 15 distant from each other, between which is nested one end of a link or a strand of the second bracelet strand. The assembly is ensured by a bar 16 freely passing through the ends 15 and the link / strand of the second bracelet strand, the bar being held by two end screws 17 being housed in whole or in part in the connecting link 10.
The connecting link 10 also comprises a lever 3 having a first portion 30 provided with at least two hooks 32, 32 'each hook 32,32' being formed in the first portion of the lever 3 by machining in the direction of the width of the clasp 1, each hook having dimensions similar to, but slightly greater than, those of the bars 21, 22. A single hook is also possible, the length of the latter then corresponding to the distance between the first and the last bar , the disadvantage being that the positioning of the hook on the chosen bar is less precise.
[0015] So as to limit the play once the lever 3 is assembled to the connecting link 10, the width of the first potion of the lever is provided slightly less than the width of the cover 2. The lever 3 also has a second portion 31, narrower than the first portion 30, acting as a pusher and at the base of which is provided a through hole 33 of circular section defining an axis of rotation to be able to pivot the lever 3 relative to the connecting link 10. The lever assembly 3 to the connecting link 10 is provided by a pin 19 passing through the connecting link 10 and the through hole 33. Advantageously, the second portion 31 of the lever 3 is slightly oriented upwards with respect to the link so as to form a positive slope and increase the leverage effect when the wearer presses in a direction perpendicular to the clasp on this second portion forming the pusher 30.
The lever 3 is arranged to move from a first position in which at least one hook 32, 32 'is engaged with at least a first bar 21,22 integral with the cover 2, to at least a second position in which the hook is released from its engagement with the bars.
The connecting link 10 comprises a blind housing 11 of substantially parallelepiped shape, in which is disposed a torsion spring 4, this spring 4 being capped by the end of the second portion 31 of the lever 3. It will be understood that when the connecting link 10 and the lever are assembled together as shown in figure 2, the torsion spring 4 which is mounted compressed forces the lever in the direction of the bars 21, 22, so that the hooks 32,32 'are engaged with the bars. Conversely, when the end of the second portion 31 forming the pusher along arrow A is pressed against the elastic return force of the spring 4, the hook or hooks 32, 32 'are released from their engagement with the bar (s) of the cover 2 and the link 10 is then free to slide relative to the cover.
It is also observed in Figure 5 that on each side of the parallelepiped housing 11 formed in the connecting link 10 are machined two cylindrical housings 12 in which are provided two threaded through holes 13 in which is screwed a screw 14 of which the l 'end of the rod protrudes into the cavity 16 formed in the bottom of the cover 2. As this cavity 16 is bounded at each of its ends by a stop 18 which marks the bottom of the cavity 16, the connecting link 10 is captive once the screws 14 have been screwed into the holes 13. According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, a plug (not shown) is driven out or glued into the cylindrical housings 12 in order to hide the screw 14 and not reveal a hole in the user's gaze.
It goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described and that various modifications and simple variants may be envisaged by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention. as defined by the appended claims.
In particular, it can be considered to replace the torsion spring 4 with a leaf spring, this leaf spring having a V-shaped profile. It is fixed at its center by means of a screw in the bottom of the connecting link 10 and the lever 3 bears resiliently on the leaf spring. The degree of deflection of the leaf spring determines the stroke of the lever and therefore of the hooks 32. As a result, the hooks 32 are perfectly notched on the bars 21, 22 so that it is impossible to accidentally lose the setting of the connecting link. 10.
Thus, to adjust the clasp, the user first unfolds the clasp 1 to be able to access the lever. Then, the user presses on the portion of the lever forming the pusher so as to release the hook (s) 32, 32 'from the bar (s) 21, 22, thus the connecting link 10 is free to slide and the carrier can push the latter or pull on it to choose the appropriate strap length. Finally, once the length has been chosen, the wearer releases the pusher which returns to its rest position under the effect of the spring 4, and at least one of the hooks 32, 32 'engages at least one bar to lock the position. The wearer only has to close the clasp 1 to wear the watch.
[0022] It goes without saying that the clasp according to the invention can also be used for a clothing belt. In this case, a first end of the belt is connected directly to the cover 2 of the clasp, while the second end of the belt is connected to the cover 2 of the clasp with the interposition of the connecting means according to the invention which comprise the connecting link 10.
